Tiny acquihires might lead an M&A rebound. But a third of employees bail after an acquisition.

Identity security concerns aren’t something organizations can afford to put on the backburner amid an M&A
In 2017, Verizon announced its intention to purchase Yahoo for $4.8 billion. But just months after that initial announcement, Yahoo disclosed that it had been the victim of a pair of data breaches affecting more than 1 billion user accounts. At the time, the two breaches were the largest ever recorded—and they seriously complicated an already complex acquisition. Ultimately, Verizon still chose to go through with the deal—albeit with a hefty, $350 million discount—but the incident still serves to underscore the importance of performing cybersecurity due diligence amid any merger or acquisition. Atlas Professional Services shares 4 steps to including the IT team in an acquisition
Corporates gearing up for an acquisition have likely involved their C-suite, accountants and legal team in the process. But what about their IT team?
Ideally, acquirers became aware of the target business’s technology infrastructure and capabilities during the due diligence period. They may have even paid more if the business had a low IT risk and solid infrastructure, which can equate to a higher valuation. (730 words) Read more here…
The GoDaddy survey was fielded in late April 2023 and polled 1,003 U.S. small businesses. The survey revealed SMBs’ need for guidance to get the most from rapidly evolving AI technology. Thirty-eight percent said they had tried generative AI tools – 27% for fun and 11% in support of their business – but the majority (62%) said they had yet to try it. More than half of respondents (57%) said they were eager to learn how to use generative AI to improve their business.
